About Smedvig Asset Allocation

Smedvig Asset Allocation AS, which is based in Stavanger, was founded in 2005 to manage the family’s cash, fixed income, mutual fund and hedge fund investments. The company seeks to invest assets under management with best-of-breed fund managers. The company currently have three employees in Stavanger. Smedvig Asset Allocation AS is authorized and regulated by the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway (Kredittilsynet). Smedvig Asset Allocation AS received its authorization to conduct discretionary asset management services and to provide investment advice in October 2007.

Smedvig Asset Allocation is responsible for the implementation and the day-to-day operations and monitoring of the part of the investment policy set by the Smedvig family companies with regard to cash, fixed income, mutual fund and hedge fund investments. The portfolio may also include direct equity investments.

The overall financial goal of the asset management of the group implies that the emphasis will be on identifying the very best, consistent, high alpha asset managers. There will be a focus on cost and taxation leakage, but the main objective will be to identify the very best external managers within each of the above mentioned asset classes in which the Smedvig family companies will be invested.

Smedvig Asset Allocation currently has approximately 4 billion NOK in assets under management.
